Every CDMA phone (obviously) has a CDMA chip (radio).This chip is responsible for carrying out voice calls and transferring data over 2G/3G, and in order to do that, it needs to know stuff like what phone number it represents, what towers to connect to, what account name to bill the 3G connection to, etc..Normally your phone should just use CW's LTE as if you were on native Verizon at home.Their web site has no 4G coverage map, and text that says (yes in all caps...) "NOW AVAILABLE IN ALLEGHANY, ASHE, AVERY, SURRY, WATAUGA, AND WILKES COUNTIES Additional Counties Coming Soon!I just returned from a week in the High Country (Western North Carolina) and my Verizon phone was constantly switching to Extended on Carolina West Wireless as they have a far superior network in NW North Carolina (Boone, Banner Elk, Foscoe, Minneapolis, Newland, ect) From what I understand Carolina West Wireless is a rural LTE partner with Verizon but when on their network I only received 3G service even though they have LTE up and running.Does anyone know if this is normal or was there something wrong?
